De Jan Eef
Foundation ‘Geef om de Jan Eef’' committed to improve the living environment of the Jan Evertsenstraat in Amsterdam. The desire was a medium that would appeal to both older and younger. I've helped them by designing a neighborhood newspaper. I used the Van Berlage style as a inspiration, because this is an important and visible architect of the neighborhood. In addition, I added graphic elements inspired by the Turkish and Moroccan culture. The goal of this is that everybody in the multi cultural community feels connected to the newspaper. The newspaper has a funny look to it, that is old-fashioned, but modern as well. Because there are so many positive comments from the local residents, the newspaper will be published four times a year.
